On May 8, 2012, Prof. Jun Xu met Prof. J. Andrew McCammon, a Member of the US National Academy of Sciences, on University of California San Diego. Two professors exchanged ideas on computational chemistry and applications in pharmaceutical researches, and decided to initiate collaborations between two groups.
On Tuesday May 15, 2012, per the invitation of Prof. Michael K. Gilson, Director of UCSD Drug Discovery Institute (DDI), Skaggs School of Pharm. and Pharm. Sci., Prof. Jun Xu visited University of California San Diego. Prof. delivered a talk on “Drug discovery @ the intersection of East and West” at DDI at 4-6pm.
May 30-June 1, 2012, Prof. Jun Xu attended 2012 Innovative TCM and Botanic Drug International Summit in Haining. As a invited speaker, Prof. Xu delivered a talk entitled “East Meeting West: Integrating TCM and West Medicine”. Prof. Xu was chairing the session one: Fundamental research of innovative TCM and botanic drugs and applications.
