Research Center for Drug Discovery (RCDD) of Sun Yat-Sen University was founded by Professor Jun Xu, a medicinal and computational chemist and veteran from the United States biopharmaceutical industry in April 2009.
The center is committed to integrating the advantages of both talents and resources in drug discovery, providing highest post-graduate education, and innovating medical solutions.
RCDD consists of following labs:
- Computer Aided Drug Design Lab.
- Medicinal chemistry Lab.
- Natural Products Isolation and Structure Elucidation Lab.
- Drug Assay Lab.
- Structure Biology Lab.
- Small Molecular Repository Center
- High Performance Computing Center for Life Sciences
The RCDD staff team is made up of professors/scientists with advanced degrees or training and who have extensive working/management experience in North America. The team has rich experience in CADD, medicinal chemistry, X-ray calligraphy and structural biology, organic synthesis, and natural product chemistry. The center is comprised of over 40 graduate students, and half of them are PhD students.
